Apple Cider Bread

Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • ¼ cup sugar

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted

  • 12 ounces hard apple cider

  • 1 ½ teaspoons cinnamon, divided

  • 2 tablespoons applesauce

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 medium apple, diced


Steps

  1. Grease a 9 inch by 5 inch loaf pan

  2. Whisk together 3 cups of flour, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, ¼ cup of sugar, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon in a bowl

  3. Add in the diced apple, vanilla extract, hard apple cider, and applesauce

  4. Stir until just combined being careful to not overmix

  5. Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula

  6. Combine the remaining ½ teaspoon of cinnamon with 3 tablespoons of melted butter

  7. Pour the melted butter and cinnamon on top of the loaf, covering it in the butter

  8. Bake the bread in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 45 to 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean

  9. Remove the fully baked bread from the oven and cool in the pan for 10 minutes

  10. Then carefully remove the bread from the pan and cool completely on a wire rack
