Asian BBQ Chicken
Ingredients
1 package of chicken drumsticks (8 to 9 legs in package)
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon cornstarch
½ cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon sesame seeds
2 teaspoons red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon dried ginger
3 heaping teaspoons minced garlic
½ cup soy sauce
½ cup apple cider vinegar
Steps
Remove the skin off the chicken drumsticks
Place the skinned drumsticks in a tin foil lined 9 inch by 13 inch baking dish
Add 1 tablespoon of sesame oil and 1 tablespoon of cornstarch to a small saucepan
Place the saucepan on medium heat and whisk until the cornstarch is dissolved
Add the brown sugar, sesame seeds, red pepper flakes, dried ginger, minced garlic, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar to the saucepan
Whisk the ingredients to dissolve the brown sugar and everything is combined
Continue whisking the sauce over medium heat until it begins to bubble and thicken
Spoon the barbecue glaze on top of each chicken leg, completely covering the chicken in the sauce
Pour any extra sauce into the baking dish
Bake the chicken in the oven at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes
Remove the chicken from the oven and re-spoon the glaze on top and all over again
Return the chicken to the oven and bake for another 25 minutes
Remove the chicken from the oven when it reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees
Serve the Asian Barbecue Glazed Chicken over a bed of white rice
