Beer Bread with Cheese

Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour

  • 12 oz light beer

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1 ½ tablespoons baking powder

  • ⅓ cup packed brown sugar

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder

  • 2 tablespoons butter

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and grease a 9” x 5” loaf pan

  2. Mix together the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, salt and 1 tsp of the garlic powder

  3. Add in cheese and mix until everything is combined

  4. Pour in beer and mix until just combined - mixture may be lumpy, don’t overmix

  5. Melt the butter and stir in remaining 1 teaspoon of garlic powder

  6. Transfer the bread batter into the prepared loaf pan

  7. Pour over melted butter mixture

  8. Bake for 45 minutes (or until toothpick inserted in center of bread comes out clean)

  9. Allow bread to cool for 5 to 10 minutes before removing from pan

  10. Cut, serve, and enjoy!
