Chocolate Marble Bundt Cake
Ingredients
3 cups flour, plus more for preparing bundt pan
1 tablespoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
2 sticks butter, softened to room temperature
2 cups white granulated sugar
4 eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 cup buttermilk
¼ cup cocoa powder
¼ cup milk
Steps
Begin by thoroughly greasing a 9 cup round bundt pan with some butter all over the bottom, middle, and sides of the pan
Sprinkle some flour into the greased bundt pan and tap and shake the bundt pan to distribute the flour and coat it all over the pan
In a bowl whisk together 3 cups flour, 1 tablespoon baking powder, and ½ teaspoon salt
To a mixer bowl, add 2 sticks softened butter and 2 cups sugar
Place the paddle attachment on the mixer and beat to cream the butter and sugar until light and creamy, scraping down the sides of the mixer bowl as needed
Add 4 eggs, one at a time, beating well in between each egg addition
Pour in 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract and beat again
Scrape down the sides of the bowl to ensure everything gets combined
Gradually add some of the flour mixture to the batter and mix on low to combine
Alternate between pouring in 1 cup of buttermilk with the remaining flour, beating on low speed until all the ingredients have been incorporated and no dry flour remains
Scrape the sides of the mixer bowl once more to ensure all the flour gets mixed in
Spoon about half the batter into a separate bowl
Add ½ cup cocoa powder to half of the separated batter and pour in ¼ cup milk
Stir to combine until smooth and make the chocolate batter
Scoop an even layer of the prepared vanilla batter into the bottom of the greased and floured bundt pan
Then spoon a layer of the chocolate batter on top
Alternate between the chocolate and vanilla layers until no more batter remains
Bake the chocolate marble bundt cake in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 50 to 60 minutes
Remove the bundt cake from the oven when a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out with dry crumbs
Allow the bundt cake to cool for 30 minutes
Place a flat round dish on top of the bundt pan and carefully invert the bundt pan holding the plate together, then lift the bundt pan up to release the bundt cake
