Christmas Cookies in July: Part 1
Ingredients
6 cups flour (plus more for surface)
2 cups butter (softened)
2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 tablespoons milk
Steps
In a standard mixer, cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy
Add eggs, milk, and vanilla and beat until combined
Add in baking powder and salt
Gradually add in flour until totally combined
Divide the dough in two balls and wrap in plastic wrap
Refrigerate at least 2 hours
When ready to roll, preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line baking sheets with parchment paper
Lightly flour a clean work surface and roll out dough until ⅛” to ¼“ thick
Cut out shapes and transfer to prepared baking sheets
Bake cookies until edges are lightly golden, 8 to 10 minutes
Let cool, then frost and decorate as desired
