French Toast Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 pound bread, cubed

  • 2 cups milk

  • 6 eggs

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  • ½ cup brown sugar

  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

  • ½ cup flour

  • ½ cup brown sugar

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1 stick salted butter, cubed


Steps

  1. Grease a 9 inch by 13 inch baking dish

  2. Cut up 1 pound of bread into cubes and spread in the prepared dish

  3. Whisk together 2 cups milk, 6 eggs, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, ½ cup brown sugar, and 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

  4. Pour the egg mixture on top of the bread

  5. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes

  6. Whisk together ½ cup flour, ½ cup brown sugar, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  7. Cut in 1 stick of salted butter until it resembles coarse crumbs

  8. Place the topping mixture in the fridge

  9. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit

  10. Sprinkle the crumb topping all over the soaked bread

  11. Bake the casserole for 45 minutes

  12. Allow to cool for 10 minutes

  13. Serve with some maple syrup, if desired
