Old Bay Shrimp Pasta
Ingredients
1 pound fettuccine
1 ½ pound peeled and deveined shrimp
4 tablespoons butter
½ small onion, finely diced
3 tablespoons Old Bay
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 lemon, juiced
1 tablespoon dried parsley flakes
½ cup heavy cream
½ cup reserved pasta water
Steps
Bring a large pot of water to a boil
Cook 1 pound of pasta according to the packaging directions, until al dente
While the water is boiling and the pasta is cooking, prepare the Old Bay cream sauce
Melt 4 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium heat
Add the diced onion and saute for 4 to 5 minutes until translucent
Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute
Add the Old Bay and stir to combine
Pour in the juice of 1 lemon and stir again
Turn the stove heat down to low and pour in the heavy cream
Stir and allow the sauce to simmer for a few minutes
Add the shrimp and cook 2 to 3 minutes per side
Before draining the pasta, reserve a half cup of the starchy pasta water and then drain the remaining water from the pasta
Add the cooked, drained pasta to the shrimp and toss to combine and coat the pasta in the Old Bay cream sauce
Pour in some of the reserved pasta water as needed to loosen up the pasta and sauce and stir the pasta and shrimp again
Toss the pasta and shrimp with the parsley flakes
Serve and enjoy!
