Old Bay Shrimp Pasta

Ingredients

  • 1 pound fettuccine

  • 1 ½ pound peeled and deveined shrimp

  • 4 tablespoons butter

  • ½ small onion, finely diced

  • 3 tablespoons Old Bay

  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic

  • 1 lemon, juiced

  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley flakes

  • ½ cup heavy cream

  • ½ cup reserved pasta water


Steps

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil

  2. Cook 1 pound of pasta according to the packaging directions, until al dente

    1. While the water is boiling and the pasta is cooking, prepare the Old Bay cream sauce

  3. Melt 4 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium heat

  4. Add the diced onion and saute for 4 to 5 minutes until translucent

  5. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute

  6. Add the Old Bay and stir to combine

  7. Pour in the juice of 1 lemon and stir again

  8. Turn the stove heat down to low and pour in the heavy cream

  9. Stir and allow the sauce to simmer for a few minutes

  10. Add the shrimp and cook 2 to 3 minutes per side

  11. Before draining the pasta, reserve a half cup of the starchy pasta water and then drain the remaining water from the pasta

  12. Add the cooked, drained pasta to the shrimp and toss to combine and coat the pasta in the Old Bay cream sauce

  13. Pour in some of the reserved pasta water as needed to loosen up the pasta and sauce and stir the pasta and shrimp again

  14. Toss the pasta and shrimp with the parsley flakes

  15. Serve and enjoy!
