Pumpkin Bread

Ingredients

  • 3 cups flours

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 ½ cups sugar

  • ½ cup brown sugar

  • 4 eggs

  • 1 cup vegetable oil

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 15 ounce can pumpkin puree

  • 1 ½ cups chocolate chips

  • ½ cup chopped nuts


Steps

  1. Grease two 9 inch by 5 inch loaf pans

  2. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, and salt

  3. Add in the sugars, eggs, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, and pumpkin puree

  4. Gently mix until just smooth

  5. Fold in the chocolate chips

  6. Divide half the batter in one of the prepared pans

  7. Fold the chopped nuts in the remaining batter

  8. Pour the batter with the nuts into the second prepared pan

  9. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 60 to 70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean

  10. Remove from the oven and cool for at least 30 minutes on a wire rack

  11. Loosen the edge of the cooled breads with a knife the bread

  12. Invert the pans to remove the breads and serve
