Spent Beer Grain Dog Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 2 cups spent beer grain

  • 1 cup flour, plus more for rolling

  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter

  • 1 egg

Steps

  1. Combine spent beer grain, 1 cup flour, ½ cup creamy peanut butter, and 1 egg in a bowl

  2. Mix ingredients thoroughly with a wooden spoon

  3. Liberally spread flour over a work surface, such as the counter top

  4. Scoop biscuit dough on top of flour

  5. Cover the top of the dough with more flour

  6. Pat and roll out the dough to about ¼ of an inch thick

  7. Use a small cookie cutter, perhaps in the shape of a dog bone, to cut out biscuits

  8. Arrange cut biscuit shapes on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper

  9. Continue cutting out biscuits with the cookie cutter and rerolling excess dough scraps until all dough has been used

  10. Bake dogs biscuits at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes

  11. Reduce oven temperature to 225 degrees Fahrenheit and continue baking dog biscuits for 2 hours

  12. Remove biscuits from oven and allow to cool before giving them to your dog
